At the April 8th first annual meeting for HSJ Online, David Webster presented a review of the finances and goals for HSJ Online. Here is what David touched on:

2015 HSJ Online Business Review: Numbers for Our First Year of Existence

  • 3 Others Who Gave Extremely Valuable Advice (Legal, Website, & Financial)

  • 4 Advisory Committee Members Providing Multiple Experiences



    The donations:

  • 2 Matching Grants: $10,000 (Tim Andrews) + $5,000 (Hawcreek-Flat Rock Endowment) = $15,000

  • 1 Town of Hope Economic Development Income Tax grant: $2,000

  • 22 Others Making Donations From $40 to $3,500): $11,990

  • 1 smaller monthly check from an individual each month that adds up during the year

  • 1 substantial check from an individual's charitable trust)



    The advertising:

  • 8 Short-Term Ads: $340

  • 4 Long-Term Ads: $1,160



    Income totals:

  • $30,490 Received In 2015 Toward Operating HSJ Online



    Expenses:

  • 1 Hosting Site: $600 (6 Months Gifted)

  • 2 Staff Members: Content Coordinator $7,800 & Business Coordinator $1,950 = $9,750

  • 2 Freelance Writers: $375 + $225 = $600

  • 1 Graphic Artist: $30

  • 4 Small Orders of Office Supplies (Checks, Business Cards, Envelopes, Stamps, P O Box): $99.59

  • 2 HSJ Online Ads: Heritage Days $500 & Hauser Athletic Program $70 = $570
