From Carol Gardner
As part of the celebration for Rev. Warren & Helen Kirk's retirement, we had the Varner Family Gospel Group from Norris City, Illinois, both on Saturday evening and for Sunday morning Worship. They are a very talented and entertaining family, and we appreciate their being here. For the Children's Sermon, Charles Varner and friend Corky gave the lesson.
The morning was devoted to a celebration of Mother's Day, with Pastor Warren telling many stories, and reading the Gospel lesson. The Simmons Family presented each one with a beautiful red geranium, as has been their tradition for many years. We appreciate and have come to look forward to those beautiful reminders of our mothers.
We will have two baptisms next Sunday. The Brandon Mize family and the Henderson family will be baptized. This will be Pastor Warren's final Sunday as our Pastor. He and Helen will be missed.
