A wave of storms Tuesday night and Wednesday morning knocked out power for thousands in northeastern Bartholomew County.
At the worst of the outages Wednesday, Duke Energy was reporting about 2,300 customers without power in the area. Bartholomew County REMC reported that it had lost power to the Hope substation, which affected about 300 customers in the community. REMC reported that the outage was caused by the issues affecting the Duke transmission lines.
Many people reported partial or limited power in their Hope-area homes Wednesday morning.
Bartholomew County REMC reported that power had been restored to the Hope area by late Wednesday afternoon.
