5/25/2017 4:41:00 AM Bicycle stop turns to arrest of Hope woman

A Hope woman was arrested early Wednesday morning on numerous drug charges after officers observed her riding her bicycle with an equipment violation.
At approximately 4:40 a.m., Officer Skylar Berry stopped a female near Pennsylvania Street and 19th Street after he saw her riding a bike without a working front light. It was determined that the woman, Lacey N. Hoeltke, 35, had an active arrest warrant through Bartholomew County, and was taken into custody.
While officers were searching her backpack, they located a spoon and a digital scale, both containing a white substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine. A grinder, three smoking devices, and a clear plastic bag, all of which contained marijuana residue, were located in Hoeltke's bag as well. Officers also discovered a small plastic bag containing methamphetamine, a small plastic bag with marijuana, and three syringes in Hoeltke's backpack.
Hoeltke was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where she was remanded into their custody on the following preliminary charges:
