The Yellow Trail Museum will be a busy place early in April, and we hope you will all find a way to be a part of the activities.
First of all, the museum will be the site of the annual HSJ Online Anniversary Celebration on Friday, April 6th, beginning at 5 p.m.
The following day, on Saturday April 7th from 10 to 11 a.m., the museum will host the monthly Saturday Sampler for kids (and adults.) These monthly events are Free programs for kids about various topics with this month's program about Backyard Gardening. There will be information shared and hands on activities (plus a snack) for all. These programs are recommended for children from age 4-100 years! And for this one come prepared to get hands dirty and minds active.
Last month we had nearly 30 children and are hoping for another large crowd. Don't miss it!
On Sunday afternoon, April 15th, at 2 p.m., the museum will host a discussion of "Memories from Burney's Barn." This event was originally planned for Sunday, March 25th, but our late-in-the-season snowfall stopped that event. We hope to have some people who enjoyed the experience of playing basketball in that old barn come to the museum to share what they remember about that great place.
The condition of the barn makes it impossible to offer that experience to today's youth, but we certainly can save memories from this important piece of Hope's past. Join us that afternoon to share or just to listen.
Of course, the museum is open for visitors at the following times each week:
Tuesdays -- 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Thursdays and Fridays -- 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturdays -- 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The research area is open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The museum can be seen at other times by requesting an appointment. You can call for an appointment or questions: 812-546-8020 or 812-371-7969.
