In August of 2000, several dedicated artists were brought together by a common dream: to provide an outlet for both the
display of established artist's works and also offer the Hope Community an organization that would help those interested in the visual arts receive information. The Art Guild of Hope operates under the non-profit umbrella of Heritage of Hope, Inc.
The mission of the Community Center of Hope is to identify, organize, and facilitate programs and services for improving the quality of life of Hope, Indiana and all the surrounding area.
The Hawcreek-Flat Rock Area Endowment was established in 2002 for the purpose of funding programs and projects in the Northeast corner of Bartholomew County. An advisory board of 15 area residents and community leaders review all grant requests and award funds based on the needs of the rural communities it serves.
During the last full weekend in September each and every year, the "Surprising Little Town" of Hope, Indiana swells from a population of around 2,200 people to tens of thousands. From the fireworks, parade, and musical entertainment to the over 125 food and vendor booths, our annual autumn festival is wonderfully Hoosier... and uniquely HOPE!
The annual Hope Ride has it all! Great music, yummy food, rural scenery, and groovy folks make this ride worth the journey. The Hope Ride provides a festival atmosphere suitable for all ages. Enjoy our diverse assortment of musical talents at rest stops along the way. Tantalize your ears with everything from Blues to Bluegrass! You’ll find yourself hanging out and tapping your clips at our rest areas. Riders really rave over Red Dog’s Petting Zoo!
A step through the door of Simmons School will take you back in time one hundred years to a simpler life. This restored one room schoolhouse can be the site for a wonderful field trip for students, a location for meetings for various organizations, a site for first person presentations or programs about the past, or a short visit for tourists to our unique town of Hope, Indiana.
Hope is a charming, safe rural town with a population of 2,100 people that offers affordable living. The great location affords easy travel to Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Louisville. Our local government consists of a Town Council with five members, a City Clerk-Treasurer, a Deputy Clerk-Treasurer and Town Manager. Other vital entities are police, fire and utilities departments. We have a school corporation, post office, community center, bank, funeral home, retail stores, restaurants, Farmers’ Market, the Art Guild of Hope and beautiful churches.
The Yellow Trail Museum in Hope, Indiana is a unique museum in that nearly every artifact in the museum has been loaned or donated to the museum by present or past residents of the community. It tells the history of our unique town.
