Hope United Methodist Church will once again have a late night Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, “The Journey,” starting at 10 p.m. Tuesday and ending at midnight.

From 10 to 11 p.m., there will be a meditation and reflective time featuring a reading by Carol Biggs and a variety of music by Sandy Thomas, Kaycee Combs, Jessica Alyea, Kathy Hill, Avery Tallent, Scott Fetting, Caleb Gross, Kiersten Nixon, Pam Anderson, and Sally Webster.

Then, there will be a traditional worship period with organ music, scripture reading, and hymns. Rev.Ed Cottrell will then have a message, “Longing For Peace.” Afterward, there will be Passing of the Light as those present will form a circle around the sanctuary and sing “Silent Night” as candles are lifted in celebration of the reason for the season.

It is a meaningful community service that has been attended by many over the years.
