Hope United Methodist Church will be holding a Blue Christmas service Saturday meant for those who are lonely or distraught this holiday season.

It is a worship service acknowledging that not everyone is happy this time of year. But, peace may be found in Christ even when surrounded by personal tragedy and other unsettling events.

Saturday is the winter solstice, the longest night of the year. If you are having trouble finding joy in this most wonderful time of the year due to a loss of family, friends, job, or other tragedy, you are not alone. Come and allow us to be with you on the longest night of the year.

The service will be at Hope United Methodist Church from 5 to 6 p.m. and is sponsored by the church and the Hope Ministerial Association.
