At the 9 a.m. worship service on October 6, the Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry will give her sermon, "Not Just Wishful Thinking: Hope."

The liturgist will share scripture from Psalm 24, and the theme for the day will be "Hope held and spoken in community is not just wishful thinking, it is a bold announcement and celebration of a future in God." The choir will share special music and Teresa Covert will give the children's sermon.

A time of fellowship will follow the service.

Prior to the worship service, the United Methodist Men's group will meet at 7:15 a.m. at the church. Don Harris will conduct business, and Larry Nolting will lead the study.

Both Bible study classes meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday; Baker's Dozen will meet at the Larry and Connie Nolting home, and Journey will meet at the home of Chris Kimerling.

The "Sit and Stitch" group will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, also at the Nolting home. New members are welcome to join any of the three groups.

Choir practice will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Prayer Time, led by Barb Hedrick, meets at 10 a.m. each Thursday morning.

Each Tuesday and Thursday morning at 9 a.m. during October, persons are invited to gather at the church to make noodles for the annual Turkey Supper which will occur Friday November 1 and Saturday November 2.

"Trunk or Treat" will be held on October 27 in the front parking lot at the church. Little Goblins are welcome to come between 5:30 and 7 p.m.; the event will occur rain or shine!
