At the 9 a.m. worship service on Easter Sunday, the Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry will deliver the message, "When Hope Brings Joy."

Scriptures from Luke 24:1-12 will be shared by the liturgist Patsy Harris. Special music will be provided by the choir, and Teresa Covert will give the children's sermon. All loose coins received during each Sunday's offering through the month of June will go to Love Chapel.

Prior to the 9 a.m. service, an Easter Sunrise service will begin at 7 a.m., followed by breakfast provided by the United Methodist Men and Women.

The congregation is encouraged to bring flowers to help celebrate the risen Lord and to welcome Spring. Flowers should be in the church fellowship hall by 8:40 a.m. Easter Sunday morning.

The Baker's Dozen study group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the home of Larry and Connie Nolting. The Journey study class also meets on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Chris Kimerling. New members are always welcome to either class.

The "Sit 'n Stitch" group will meet on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., also at the Nolting home. Choir practice is at 6:30 p.m. at the church and the Prayer group, led by Barb Hedrick, will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday morning. The United Methodist Women's group will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday night at the church.

On April 28, following the 9 a.m. worship service, there will be a pitch-in-brunch followed by discussion on the Fruitful Congregation Journey "Envision 101." The FCJ Discipleship Plan, C - Connect, W - Worship, C - Commit, S - Serve, will be the main topics discussed. All members and friends of the Petersville congregation are urged to attend this event.
