On Sunday, May 27, Julee S. Nabukalu of Uganda will speak at the 9 a.m. worship service at the Petersville United Methodist Church; also, she will share her voice with the congregation in song.

Nabukalu is an active member of her church in Uganda, working with the children and youth; she attended the international United Methodist Women's Assembly in Columbus Ohio May 17 - 20 and will be in America for a few weeks. Liturgist Maxine Harden will share announcements and scriptures, and Teresa Covert will give the children's message. Connie Nolting, pianist, and organist Chris Kimerling will provide special music. A time of fellowship will follow the service.

The Monday night 6:30 p.m. Bible study will take place at the Chris Kimerling home. The Sit 'n Stitch group will meet at the Connie Nolting home at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Prayer group will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with Barb Hedrick as leader.

On June 2, a Relay for Life event will be held on the Hope town square from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Petersville parishoners are encouraged to participate in this fund raiser for the American Cancer Society. Persons can walk a lap or two, have lunch, bid on the Silent Auction, or purchase a luminary for $10. Donations may be given in memory of Tanya Covert Frazee, the daughter of Teresa Covert. "God's Amazing World," a Vacation Bible School 'Summer Blitz', will be held June 10 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in woods near the home of Joe and Kathy Bush. Children ages 3 yrs. to 12 yrs. are invited to attend, and their families are invited to attend the weiner roast following the completion of the event. For further information: 812-376-3501.

The Clay Township Fire Department will have a Fish Fry on June 22, 23. Members of Petersville church are invited to volunteer to help serve and to donate desserts.
