The Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry will deliver the message, "Greater Purpose," at the 9 a.m. worship service on Sunday morning at the Petersville United Methodist Church.

The theme for the day will be "Why Are We Here on Earth?" Scripture will be from the book of Isaiah, chapter 1 and verses 12 - 17. The choir will be sharing special music, directed by Kathy Bush and accompanied by Chris Kimerling. Teresa Covert will give the children's sermon. A time of fellowship will follow the service.

Sunday afternoon, the United Methodist Men's group will have a hot dog roast and also will serve ice cream; the event will begin a 5:30 p.m. on the east side of the church. Those attending are invited to bring lawn chairs and a dish to share.

The Monday night Bible study classes will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Kimerling home and at the Nolting home. The "Sit and Stitch" group will meet Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m., also at the Nolting home. Choir practice will be held Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. at the church, and the Thursday morning Prayer Time will be at 10 a.m., also at the church, with Barb Hedrick as leader.
