The theme for the 9 a.m. worship service Sunday at the church, 2781 N 500 E, Columbus, will be "Christ's Family is tied together through the Blood of Christ."

The liturgist will share scriptures from Matthew 18:19 & 20, and the Teresa Covert will give the children's message. The title of the Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry's sermon will be "Population Two." Communion will be served during the service. A time of fellowship will follow worship.

The prayer group will meet on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church, led by Barb Hedrick. The United Methodist Men's group will meet on September 9 at 7:15 a.m. at the church with Don Harris leading the business meeting and Larry Nolting leading the book study. The Monday night Bible Study class with Chris Kimerling as hostess will begin meeting again on September 10 at 6:30 p.m.

A community celebration at an outdoor worship service will take place at 10 a.m. Sunday September 9 at the church. The celebration will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the church's founding. Former pastors, members and friends of the church are invited to attend. A pitch-in lunch will follow the service; those attending are asked to bring a dish or two to share and they should bring lawn chairs, also. Memorabilia from the past will be on display in the fellowship hall.
