The Hauser Lady Jets welcomed Mid-Hoosier foe Southwestern to the d rocking hanger on Monday night.

The Jets started slow but ended the first quarter with a three at the buzzer by senior Kyliegh Parrott to take a 16-9 advantage. The senior ended with 12 points, four rebounds, four assists, three deflections, and two blocks.

Sophomore Norah Berkenstock found her form from downtown connecting on two first quarter threes on her way to 14 points on 6 or 10 shooting.

Junior guard Madelyn Poe hit three three’s and two free throws in the second quarter to carry the Jets to a 27-16 half time lead. Poe ended the night with four threes and a team high 19 points, three rebounds, three assists, three deflections, and one steal.

The Jets extended the lead to 43-24 after three quarters and continued to put the clamps on the Spartans outsourcing them 18-6 in the final period to pick up the 61-30 Mid-Hoosier Conference win.

Senior Adrianna Musillami scored five points, and Max Preps Player of the Game Junior Bella Kilps pitched in three points and grabbed a team high eight rebounds, with four assists, three deflections, and one steal. Junior guard Erykah Everroad had a team high of five assists and chipped in two points, with three rebounds, three deflections, and a steal.

Rounding out the scoring for the Jets was Jaden Sims, Kayden Miller, and Samy Mires all with two points. The Jets turned defense into offensive again by forcing Southwestern into 36% shooting and forcing 21 turnovers, with 10 transition points. The Jets used 15 offensive rebounds to produce 11 second chance points, and the hot shooting night ended with eight threes.

The Jets are now 2-2 on the year and 1-0 in the Mid-Hoosier Conference and will travel to Rising Sun on Saturday for a 12 p.m. JV start with the varsity to follow.
