The Hauser Lady Jets started slow, leading 9-6 after the first quarter, but used an explosive second quarter, outscoring the Indians 20-2 to take a 29-8 halftime lead. The Jets extended the lead to 43-17 after three quarters. The Jets first victory of the year went final at 48-33.
The Jets defense created offense forcing Milan into 30 turnovers and 28% shooting on the night. The Jets produced 25 steals on the night ending in 18 transition points. Hauser shot 36% from the floor leaving multiple points on the floor by not converting lay-ups and shooting 8-15 from the free throw line.
The Jets were led in rebounding by senior Adrianna Musillami with 8 big boards and she scored 10 points. Junior Bella Kilps went 3 for 3 from the field and scored 6 points. Junior Madelyn Poe was very active on the defensive end, leading the team in deflections with 6 and in steals with 6, while scoring a team high 17 points, and recording a team high 4 assists with senior Kyliegh Parrott. Parrott scored 7 points. Junior Erykah Everroad also recorded 6 steals and chipped in 6 points. Senior Jaden Sims scored 2 points and Norah Berkenstock recorded 1 point to round out the scoring for the Jets.
The Jets are now 1-1 on the year and will host Shawe Memorial on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, for Senior Celebration Night. The JV game will tip at 6 p.m. with the varsity to follow.
