A Hope man was arrested on drug-related charges after being found unconscious in a traffic accident.

The Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department was called to the scene of a slide-off crash in the 17000 block of East County Road 500N at 5:28 p.m. on Saturday, May 11th. Hope Volunteer Fire Department personnel were already on scene tending to an unconscious man, 20-year-old Joshawa W. Coy of Hope. 

Deputy Andrew Whipker administered two doses of Narcan and Coy regained consciousness. He was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital to be checked out and then to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

All persons are considered innocent unless/until proven guilty in a court of law.

Deputy Frank Munoz was the primary deputy on the scene, and Hope Police Department also assisted.
