  • First and foremost, HSJ Online is very dependent on the support from the community and is very appreciative of our 69 different contributors to this point.
  • HSJ Online became a not-for-profit and free reading media source under the umbrella of Heritage Of Hope in January 2015. We look forward to 2020, our sixth year.
  • With the capable leadership of Bud Herron, HSJ Online became a reality after hours of dialogue with key individuals.
  • David McChesney, a former associate of Bud, stepped up to offer the services of his company in Kokomo, 1up!, to help us create a website.
  • John Clark, with lots of journalism experiences and who worked beside Larry Simpson in publishing “The Hope Star-Journal” in 2014, became the HSJ Content Coordinator while Stephanie Shoaf, who worked with Larry and the Biggs's family, became the HSJ Business Coordinator.
  • Tim Andrews, long time supporter of projects in the Hope area, presented HSJ Online a $10,000 matching grant early in the first year which the community quickly matched. Around $30,000 was raised in 2015, by far our best year to this point.
  • A Kelley School Of Business team, under the leadership of Haley Webster, partnered with HSJ Online and suggested posting more pictures and videos which ultimately resulted in a new website. The team also developed a Hauser Intern Packet as well as a Marketing Packet.
  • Weekly email reminders can be received by following instructions under “About Us.”
  • Dave Miller, Hope Library Supervisor, graciously volunteered to provide copies of material in the Hope Library as well as at Reflections for those who can not get online or who prefer a physical format.
  • Under “Community,” there is an Art Guild Virtual Gallery with artwork of several local artists.
  • Rhett Whittington is our graphic artist and developed our Clock Logo.

  • Jessica Brown is now posting regularly what she observes happening in Hope from her downtown business window under “Town Crier.”
  • We have published numerous articles throughout the five years with well over one million page views and presently around 1,500 Facebook likes. It is of tremendous help when readers like and share HSJ Online articles on Facebook.
  • Google provides all types of website statistics for us to review such as gender, age, device, and location. Besides many local viewers, HSJ has viewers throughout the United States and world.
