The time to trade pumpkin spice for a coupling of peppermint and hot cocoa is here. Leaves are falling with the temps and that can only mean one thing, WILLow LeaVes of Hope, located at 326 Jackson St. downtown, is hosting its annual Christmas Open House this weekend from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

As the ladies transition from fall to holiday this week, co-owner Vickie Tedder says the process of tearing down to make way for the festive is a process that is both creative and cathartic.

“It is a different way of being creative,” Tedder says. “That is the fun part. We get to decorate, pull everything out, push everything back. It is a transition, and it is just fun to do all that.”

This year will see the return of holiday favorites, including a grand selection of ornaments and holiday décor for tree and home, as well as all one needs to greet the season.

“We have a great selection of ornaments and several, several trees up,” Tedder says. “Splashes of silver, gold and white – it is a great combination of old, new and antiques.”

Throughout the open house weekend shoppers can look forward to door prizes, discounts and delicious menu items, Tedder adds, both Friday and Saturday with chicken and noodles on the menu.

Discounts, like those offered this weekend, will also be offered during Small Business Saturday, November 26.
