A Hope man was arrested following a weekend traffic stop and a female observer was also arrested, according to the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department.. 

On June 22nd at about 9:37 p.m., Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Deputy Dylan Prather arrested Paul Comstock, 52, of Hope, following a traffic stop in the 1800 block of 10th Street, Columbus. Comstock was remanded to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of:

  • Outstanding Bartholomew County Warrant
  • Obstruction of Justice
  • Legend Drug Injection Devices
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of look-alike Substance
  • Possession of Paraphernalia
  • Resisting Law Enforcement

During Comstock’s arrest, deputies also confirmed that a female observer, identified as Loretta Reed, 34, of 10th Street in Columbus, had an outstanding arrest warrant. Reed was also taken into custody and remanded to the Bartholomew County Jail on the outstanding Bartholomew County warrant.

All persons are considered innocent unless/until proven guilty in a court of law.
