A Hope man accused in a Jackson County shooting death died at Schneck Medical Center yesterday, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.

Tobias Au, 30, of Hope died yesterday.

On May 10th, the Jackson County Sheriff's Department responded to a medical incident inside the jail. Jackson County Jail officers located Au unconscious and not breathing. Lifesaving techniques were immediately administered and Au was transported to Schneck Medical Center.

On May 17, Au passed away. 

The Indiana State Police were contacted and are investigating the incident. While they are investigating, there will be no further information available. 

At 5:37 a.m. on May 6th, the Jackson County Sheriff's Department received a report of a shooting at 2710 Bent Tree Lane Apt 103 from Au. He told dispatchers that a subject was deceased.

The deceased victim was identified as Ryan J. Ross, 28, of Jennings County. Ross had arrived at this residence not long before the shooting. He knocked on the door and was let inside the residence by the homeowner, Dakota Anderson. While Ross was inside standing by the door, the suspect, Au, allegedly shot Ross several times.
