Heritage of Hope announced this morning that Randy and Tonja Sims have been chosen as this year's Hope Heritage Days grand marshals.

Heritage of Hope presented a letter to the Sims:

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Heritage of Hope, Inc., it is my distinct privilege to announce that you have been selected to be Grand Marshals of the 2021 Hope Heritage Days Parade on Sunday, September 26, 2021.

As grand marshals you will lead the parade and be escorted to the reviewing stand area where you will watch the remainder of the parade and select the Grand Marshals’ Choice entry.

The two of you now join the long list of esteemed past Grand Marshals who share with you a proven commitment to the Hope area community, a history of personal achievement, an unshakable devotion to your friends and family, and a reputation of high moral character.

During your distinguished and honored life of loyalty to the Hope district and through your many decades of leadership and service on the Heritage of Hope Board and its Festival & Bandstand Division, the Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Corporation, numerous Town Council committees and grant projects, and many other causes, you have left a proud legacy for current and future Hope residents to follow. As your family, friends and countless work colleagues over the years will attest, you both have provided a steady and humble example of conveying our belief that there is “no better place to work and live than in Hope, Indiana”.

You have lived your life as a wonderful example to others and have made it possible for many generations in our corner of Bartholomew County to enjoy a richer, more fulfilling life.

These examples are just a portion of the many reasons why you were chosen for this prestigious honor, and we are grateful for the opportunity to name you a Grand Marshals for 2021.
