Credit card skimmers found on local gas pumps

Gas pump credit card skimmers are being found in Bartholomew County. Skimmers are designed to steal credit card information.
Card skimming takes places when thieves plug a device and computer chip into the gas pumps. It takes only a few seconds.
The Sheriff's Office is recommending that all gas stations in Bartholomew County actively check their pumps and change their locks.
"The only way you can be sure to avoid credit card skimming is to pay inside," said Sheriff Matt Myers.[[In-content Ad]]
