Former teachers attend Simmons School

By From Marilyn Brackney-

On March 17th, members of ADK, a social sorority composed of retired teachers, attended the Simmons School located in Hope.

Schoolmarm Janice Montgomery led our class, and gave us a glimpse into the lives of children who attended the one room schoolhouse in 1892.

After saying the Pledge of Allegiance, we settled into our lessons, but student Sherri McKinney spent some time in the corner for playing a prank on Mrs. Montgomery. Tsk! Tsk!

We appreciate those who volunteer their time to make field trips to the school possible. Also, many thanks to the hundreds of people who donated their time and money to make the dream of moving and renovating the school a reality.[[In-content Ad]]
