Petersville United Methodist Church news for Feb. 14th

Scriptures to be shared by liturgist Deb Loper include Leviticus 19:1-2, 9-18, and 1st Corinthians 3:10-11, 16-23. Teresa Covert will give the children's sermon, and the adult choir will provide special music. A time of fellowship will follow the service.
The Walking group will meet at Fair Oaks Mall at 9 a.m. on Monday and Wednesday. The Journey Bible study class will meet at Kimerling's on Monday at 6:30 p.m. The Baker's Dozen Bible class will not meet until further notice. Also, the Sit and Stitch group is on hiatus for a few weeks. Choir practice will be at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and Prayer group will meet on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church.
Petersville will begin their annual "Faith Promise" event on Feb. 25th from 3 to 4:30 p.m. with members of the planning committee sharing information concerning the local, national and world projects that the church has supported in the past twenty years using the $150,000 that Faith Promise has raised during that time. At the worship service on Feb. 26th, Pastor Scherer-Berry will speak about Kuandaa International and the Ugandan Mission trip in June. During that service, the congregation will have the opportunity to make a promise to support Faith Promise missions with a financial pledge.
Faith Promise will continue with a "Fat Tuesday" meal on Feb. 28th at the church; serving will be from 5 to 8 p.m. and the menu will include pancakes, sausage and gravy, biscuits, scrambled eggs, fruit, coffee, juice and milk. The cost will be $7 and children under 5 yrs. old may eat free. Proceeds from the meal will help fund a mission trip to Uganda in July by the Rev. Scherer-Berry and her daughter Kezia Scherer-Berry. Members of the Faith Promise committee include Kathy Bush, chairperson, Marjorie Schmeckebier, Karen Lucas and Patsy Harris.
