State Road 9 to close Monday
By Harry Maginity-
The Indiana Department of Transportation will close State Road 9 north of Hope next Monday, July 11th, for bridge work at the 3-span structure over Haw Creek.
A posted detour routes motorists around the 3-week closure via State Road 252, Interstate 65, U.S. 31 and 25th Street at Columbus.
E & B Paving is the state's contractor for this $179,500 bridge preservation project. Its crews will make necessary repairs and patches before replacing the existing bridge deck overlay with a new 2ΒΌ-inch latex-modified concrete overlay.
The State Road 9 bridge at Haw Creek is a continuous reinforced concrete slab structure measuring 90 feet in length with 39 feet of clear roadway side-to-side.
State Road 9's traffic count is 3,910 vehicles per day.
