A Day in the Life: Giving thanks for what we have

By By Dietrich [email protected]

Here I am again lost in thought with my rifle in my lap and the cold as my hunting partner.

Sometimes as you sit in the cold you wish for warmer clothes. Sometimes when you sit in your house you wish you had more, but how often is it that we stop look around and say something like this, "God, thank you for everything I have and for all the great people in my life?"

It is not very often you hear a person say something like that. Everybody had that moment in life where they look at what they have and just want more. So as I sit here without my coat, I can't help but think, "Man, I sure so wish I had that sucker to warm me up right now."

I didn't take the time to look down at my overalls and think, "Wow, am I lucky to have these things on to keep me from getting a cold!"

Now all I can think about is how grateful I am to have these coveralls on. With this in mind, I have come to many a conclusion. Sometimes you have just got to stop in life, dust yourself off and be happy for what you've got.

Because I guarantee there is someone out there who has it worse than you. So be thankful for all you have because not everyone is as lucky as you and I.

Take time to walk up to a parent and just say "Thank you!" and give them a hug. Take the time to walk up to a teacher and tell them "Thank you!" Teachers, educators, and people like them did not get into their profession to get rich. They got into that profession because they took the time to stop and look around and say "God, I am thankful for what I have, now give me the strength to give back."

So, say "Thank you" to everyone that went out of their way to help you excel in life, because they didn't have to.

Take the time to stop and say "Thank you!"[[In-content Ad]]
