Alvera J. McNicholas-Taylor, 83, Taylorsville

Before retirement she had been employed at Bulldog Bowling Lanes.
She was a member of the VFW, Eagles Auxillary and the American Legion Auxillary.
She loved to read, garden, crochet and do crossword puzzles.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Pastor Don Buck officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hawcreek Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or Bartholomew County Humane Society through the funeral home.
Born November 17, 1931 in Bartholomew County, Alvera was the daughter of Paul Oliphant and Cordelia Taylor. She marrried Maurice "Nick" McNicholas July 17, 1948 and he preceded her in death July 12, 2002.
She then married Kenneth Taylor February 12, 2006 and he preceded her in death in October of 2006.
Survivors include s daughter, Kathy Hedrick Dobbs of Columbus; sons, Harold (Tina) McNicholas of Hope and Robert (Leigh) McNicholas of Waterloo, IL; step-children, Carol (Roger) Meadows of Kentucky and Kenny (Noel) Taylor of Fl.; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Terri Carman McNicholas of Columbus.
Alvera was preceded in death by her parents; 2 husbands; a son, Mike McNicholas; a brother, Paul Oliphant Jr. and a step-father, Harold Taylor.[[In-content Ad]]
