Area man arrested on drug charges

Columbus police officers arrested two people on drug charges Sunday evening after they were allegeldy seen with narcotics in their vehicle.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., Columbus Police officers Lukas Nibarger and Brian Voyles responded to the 1700 block of North National Road. Nibarger observed Erin M. Jenkins, 35, of Columbus, as well as Kevin E. Hull, 27, of Hope inside a vehicle. Nibarger noted that Jenkins allegedly had a corner cut bag in her hand and a syringe in her lap. Nibarger also advised that Hull had a syringe in his lap as well.

Hull was taken into custody and officers reportedly located a cigarette pack in his pants pocket containing heroin. Officers searched Jenkin's purse and allegedly located additional heroin as well as methamphetamine. Drug paraphernalia and as well as an uncapped syringe were also located in the passenger floor board where she had been seated.

Both Jenkins and Hull were transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where they were arrested on the following preliminary charges:

Jenkins:

  • Possession of heroin

  • Possession of methamphetamine

  • Possession of an injection drug device

    Hull:

  • Possession of heroin
