Betty J. Proffitt, 76, Columbus

She was a housewife and caretaker. She enjoyed crocheting and loved her dog, Angel.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home.
Born Jan. 31, 1939 in Columbus, Betty was the daughter of Raymond and Doreen Stoughton Williams.
She married Leonard Proffitt on Oct. 11, 1958 in Columbus and he precedes her in death.
Survivors include sister, Barbara (Wayne) Sisson Gosch of Flat Rock; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Robert Wayne Williams and Richard E. Williams.[[In-content Ad]]
