Biggest Block Party Ever set for Columbus

Columbus Area Arts Council's Johnson Witkemper Insurance Biggest Block Party Ever will be held Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 5:30 to 11 p.m. on Fourth and Washington Streets in the heart of the Columbus Arts District.

Admission is $8. Children 12 and under are admitted free of charge.

This event is one of two annual fundraisers for the Columbus Area Arts Council.

This year's Block Party entertainment line-up includes 11 local and regional acts performing on three stages throughout the evening. The People's Choice winner of the Columbus Teen Council Battle of the Bands is Minefield Neighborhood. They will perform at 5:45 PM on the Dunlap Stage. Other local acts include Relic (hard rock), The Jackson Way (decades of hits), The Dark Syde (classic rock), Kristen Wright (Indie singer/songwriter), and Too Hot to Handle (jazz). Regional acts include The Woomblies (original and rock covers), Punkin' Holler Boys (bluegrass), Emily Ann Thompson (Irish/Celtic fiddle), Blaise Streets (country), and Dicky James & the Blue Flames (electrified blues).

This year's food vendors include The Big Cheese food truck (Bloomington), Big Ron's Bistro food truck (Indianapolis), and local fare from Taco Tent, Jordy McTaggart's Grill & Pub, and Le Petit Caraibes (Caribbean). Bartholomew County Beverage, with help from the Garage Pub and 4th Street Bar & Grill, will offer beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks at convenient stations along Fourth Street.

Children can once again enjoy the Hilliard Lyons Kids Zone in the 300 block of Washington Street.
