Centra Foundation announces Burd Scholarship program

Centra Foundation is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications to the 2015-2016 Loretta M. Burd Scholarship Program. Ten scholarships each valued at $1,000 will be awarded in May 2015.

The scholarship program is named in honor of Loretta Burd who retired in 2012 after 47 years of service including 25 years as Chief Executive Officer.

Centra Foundation and Centra Credit Union place a high value on education and the importance of individuals pursuing higher education opportunities to earn college degrees. The Foundation offers two scholarship opportunities.  Graduating High School seniors are encouraged to apply for the Loretta M. Burd High School Scholarship.  Adults or non-traditional students should apply for the Loretta M. Burd Adult Scholarship program.

Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors and non-traditional students who plan to attend a two or four year college, university, or technical school. Applicants must be a member of the Centra Credit Union with accounts that are in good standing.
