Press release

Registration is still open for a free workshop on Chain Saw Safety and Tree Felling offered by Purdue Extension on Tuesday, Oct. 25th.

Chain saw accidents can be deadly according to statistics collected monthly by the Tree Care Industry Association. Those who find rewards in cutting trees or firewood on their own land can protect themselves by understanding best practices for safety.

Columbus Youth Camp will be the location for a Chain Saw Safety and Tree Felling workshop taught by Purdue Extension Forester Don Carlson from 1 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 25th.

Participants will review safety, use and maintenance indoors. An outdoor tree-felling demonstration and Q & A session will follow. In case of inclement weather, the workshop will be moved to Thursday, Oct. 27th.

Registration is available online at www.eventbrite.com
