Charles H. Pate, 76, of Hope

Charles H. Pate, 76, of Hope died Friday Aug. 25, 2017 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Born February 26, 1941 in Indianapolis, Charles was the son of Charles Riley and Dorothy Ann Baugh Pate. He married Joyce Turner December 28, 1960 and she preceded him in death April 13, 1997. He then married Deloris Burton October of 1997 and she survives.

Other survivors include sons, Terry (Angie) Pate of O'Fallon, IL, David Pate (Cindi) of Hope and John Pate of Hope; Step children, Billy ( Marjorie) Burton of Scipio, Larry Burton of Elizabethtown, Jeff (Kathy) Burton of Scipio, Tim Burton of Perrysburg, OH and Angela (Chris) Norvell; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Ella (Kenny) Krebs of Newbern and a brother Scott (Darla) Pate of Riverside, CA.

Charles was retired from Golden Castings. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served in the Vietnam War and U.S. Army National Guard. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

The funeral will be Tuesday, Aug. 29th, at 10 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 28th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be performed by Bartholomew County Veteran's Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be donated to American Cancer Society.

Charles was preceded in death by his first wife Joyce; his parents Charles and Dorothy and a sister, Patty.[[In-content Ad]]
