Children's choir to perform April 30th at Hymns of Hope

On Sunday, April 30, Hope United Methodist Church will be hosting Hymns of Hope from 7:05 p.m. to 8:25 p.m.

The program will start with the newly formed Children's Choir directed by Susan Brown and accompanied by David Brown followed by a duet special by Pastor Barry Goodman & Pastor Mark Walker.

David Brown will then share the story behind four songs of faith and lead the congregation in singing them. He will be accompanied by his wife, Susan, on the piano as well as by well-known local organist, John Ziegler, and by several members of the Columbus City Band.

Afterward, the Moravian Choir will sing a special.

Pastor Warren Kirk will deliver a short message about faith related to his cross-county bike ride which provided pivotal points when making the decision to go into the ministry after a long career with Proctor & Gamble.

Then, there will be a time to select some favorite hymns after sharing the reason why. The story before the singing of these songs always conveys a meaningful message.

For those wishing to arrive early, there will be a social and snack time form 6:15 p.m. to 6:50 p.m. There will be some tasty goodies and beverages provided by the Hope United Methodist congregation.

A meditation time will start at 6:50 p.m. with some wonderful instrumental music.

The first Hymns of Hope in January had great attendance and a bountiful offering which went to two wonderful community organizations, Hope Elementary Good News Club and Hope Ministerial Association. The collection this time will once again support these worthwhile causes as well as the Hope Area Children's Choir.[[In-content Ad]]
