County board to hear Utopia request tonight
The board will consider a conditional use of the not-for-profit organization's agriculture zoned property to allow an animal shelter on the property and whether to allow the construction of a 40 foot by 60 foot pole barn on the property.
According to the application filed with the county board, the applicant, Kathleen Hershey, does not plan to add any more animals to the shelter. The facility is on County Road 200N in Clifty Township.
The planning department staff has recommended approval of the request.
The meeting is at 7 p.m. tonight in the County Council chambers of the Governmental Office building on Third Street in Columbus.
