CRH names new director of oncology

Columbus Regional Health is pleased to announce a new role within the cancer care line of services. Joni Candler, RN, BS, was named Director of Oncology, effective in December 2015. Candler joined Columbus Regional Health in August 2015, and brings great experience and expertise with her to this role. Candler has been an oncology nurse for more than five years and has served in numerous oncology leadership and innovation roles. As Director of Oncology, Candler leads the daily operations associated with patient care activities and clinical education and development of the staff in the Columbus Regional Health Cancer Center.
As the expansion and renovation of the Cancer Center comes to completion, Candler is leading the clinical transition and the implementation of the oncology electronic medical record system. The Director of Oncology also provides assistance in the recruitment of providers to expand the current complement of services provided to cancer patients in our region at the Columbus Regional Health Cancer Center.
The Cancer Center is undergoing an expansion and renovation that will include expanded waiting areas and more chemotherapy treatment bays, as well as a few private treatment rooms. The project is expected to be completed in February.[[In-content Ad]]
