Cross-country squads place 2nd at Greensburg

Hauser's varsity boys and girls cross country teams both finished second to host Greensburg on Tuesday.

Greensburg took the top six places in the girls race, led by Hannah Brenner's time of 20:08. Lauryn Starnes (25:39) and Tammy Essex (25:43) led the Jets with 10th and 11th place finishes. Leah Joyce came in 15th (29:40), Hae-Leigh Washburn finished 16th (30:02), and Kristin Keith was 19th (39:06).

Greensburg ran away with a perfect score of 15 points, leaving Hauser with a score of 50. South Decatur's girls team was incomplete.

Hunter Butz of Greensburg won the boys race in 18:14, followed close behind by Hauser's David Seelye in 18:15. Ryan Ault finished 7th (19:56); Brock Thalls 8th (20:36); Sam Robinson 18th (23:11); Jordan Johnson 21st (24:12); and Noah Benge 22nd (27:18). The Jets edged out the Cougars 49-50, against a score of 29 by the Pirates.

At Saturday's Rushville Invitational, Hauser's girls placed 12th of 13 complete teams in the Division III Race. Tammy Essex finished in 24:09 for 42nd place. Lauryn Starnes was 55th (25:05); Leah Joyce 91st (28:06); Hae-Leigh Washburn 100th (28:51), and Kristin Keith 105th (31:29).

Hauser's boys team was incomplete. David Seelye took 13th with a time of 17:46. Ryan Ault finished 50th (19:21); Brock Thalls 104th (21:20); and Sam Robinson 113th (21:57).
