Cross country team takes win at Heritage Days Classic

Hauser's boys team won last Saturday's Heritage Days Classic, while the girls team came in second to Genesis United.

The Jets' David Seelye was the individual champion in the boys race, finishing in 17:51. Ryan Ault (18:55) took 2nd place, while Jordan Johnson (19:32) was 4th. Brock Thalls finished 10th (21:35), Sam Robinson 15th (22:21) and Noah Benge 19th (23:23). Tammy Essex's second place finish (23:34) led the girls team. Lauryn Starnes (25:31) was 5th, Hae-Leigh Washburn 13th (28:29), Leah Joyce 15th (28:33), and Kristin Keith 20th (31:36).

On Tuesday, the high school teams swept the Yellow Jackets at their meet at Morristown. Seelye won the boys race with a time of 17:54, while Johnson and Ault took 2nd and 3rd. Thalls was 7th, Robinson 8th, and Benge 11th. The boys scored 21 points to Morristown's 34. Starnes led the way for Hauser's girls, finishing in 25:41 for 2nd place. Essex came in 3rd, Joyce 6th, Washburn 7th, and Keith 8th. The girls scored 15 against an incomplete Morristown team.

The junior high boys team also raced against Morristown, finishing second in a close race, 25-32. Tanner Ault finished in 2nd place, Noah Estes 4th, and Sam Estes 6th.[[In-content Ad]]
