Donald Clinton Stanton, 82, Edinburgh

Donald Clinton Stanton, 82 of Edinburgh, died Sunday Nov. 1, 2015 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Before retirement, he had been a farmer for over 50 years. He was also a Union Carpenter for Acme.

He was a member of Flat Rock Christian Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Missouri for over 50 years. He was in the U.S. Air Force and was proud to be a Kentucky Colonel.

The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Pastor Brian Ebersold officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born Jan. 9, 1933 in Johnson County, Donald was the son of Mark Clinton and Mildred Stubbs Stanton. He married Ruth Ann Snapp May 17, 1957 and she survives.

Donald enjoyed deer hunting, gardening and woodworking and was a hard worker.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Ann of 58 years; a son, Marty (Brenda) Stanton of Flat Rock; a daughter, Melinda (Jeff) Lee of Flat Rock; grandchildren, Crystal (Josh) Shannon of Flat Rock, Mark (Stephanie) Stanton of Shelbyville, Ashley (Larry) Stone of Flat Rock and Tyler

Spencer of Missouri; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Jane Ann Roberts of Edinburgh, Eleanor (Harold Wayne) Tropy of Shelbyville, Dan Stanton of Edinburgh, Becky Parks of Lyons, Michigan and several nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.[[In-content Ad]]
