Donnie Lee Mote, 77, Columbus
Before retirement he was employed at Cummins Engine Co. for over 35 years.
He was a former member of Hartsville United Methodist Church.
He served in the Army Reserves.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Lower Union Presbyterian Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hartsville United Methodist Church.
Born June 19th, 1938 in Hartsville, Donnie was the son of Howard Wayne and Bessie Lenora Readnour Mote. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, trapping turtles and motorcycles.
Donnie is survived by; daughters, Donna (Mark) Thompson and Mara (Tim) Moore both of Columbus; grandchildren, Cole and Blake Thompson and Sebastian Moore, all of Columbus; brothers, Bob (Norma) Mote of Columbus, Ernie (Sharon) Mote of Hope, Tom Mote of Hope; a sister, Carol Tatman of Hartsville; sister-in-law, Barbara Mote of Taylorsville; several nieces and nephews and his best friend, his dog, Rusty.
Donnie was preceded in death by; his parents, grandson, Jordan Thompson, step- father, Glen Powers; brother, Kenny Mote, niece, Shari Mote and a brother-in-law, Tim Tatman.[[In-content Ad]]
