Duck Ponderings: Thanks to Lady Jets for great season

I attended the Jac-Cen-Del Sectional hoping the Lady Jets could find a way to beat a taller Oldenburg team. The Twisters got off to a quick start and had a 15-9 lead after the first quarter while extending it to 34-13 at half time. By the end of the third quarter, it was 52-18. Our best scoring quarter was the fourth while the Twisters had their worst one with the final score being 57-32.

It was the last game for the seniors, girls who have devoted much time and effort to the program. I had the pleasure of working with these young ladies when they were fifth graders, my last year of teaching at Hope Elementary.

Time sure slides by! Even though I know hearts are heavy, this particular game will slide by too. When looking back at the season, I know Coach Hamilton will focus on all the positives, including winning the conference. That in itself is quite the accomplishment!

In playing several different sports over the years, I can recall games which just did not go the the way I expected despite the best of my efforts, the best of efforts from my teammates. It is often hard to figure out why.

We want to thank all of you for bringing us together no matter the final score. Hope is a mighty special place, made even more special because of the many talents of our young people at Hope Elementary and Hauser. As a community, we feel very fortunate![[In-content Ad]]
