Duck Ponderings: We need one another

From last week: It was later in my teaching career, and I wanted a unique activity to end a fifth grade science/health interdependence unit. I can't recall exactly what was stated before the assignment; I just recall being impressed enough with what was submitted that I transferred a summary to my computer files. It seems the beginning of 2016 and the month of February is a perfect time to share. Within their words, there is much wisdom!

Representing Ms. Flack's Class:

  • School has inspired me to be an author or a vet. Raechel

  • Without school, how would you read info about clothes, and how would we be able to figure how much money to spend? Kelli

  • Without school, nothing in life would seem right. Zach

  • School teaches us what it's going to be like in the real world. Charles

  • School helps you meet new friends. Shayne

  • We need school so that we know what to do in life. David

  • Teachers will be in our lives for a long time. Brandy

    Representing Mr. Law's Class:

  • Teachers show us different ways of seeing things. Evan

  • Think, what if we didn't have school? We wouldn't get educated! Adam

  • You just plain need school! Bailey

  • Even though we may not like crawling out of bed, school really helps our society. Hayli

  • I love this school and the teachers. Thank you teachers! Nicholas

  • I try my hardest to keep my grades up so I can get a good education and a good job. I want my children to know about the importance of school. Payton

  • If we didn't have school, we would be bored out of our minds! Keaton

  • There is no way we can thank teachers enough. We should show them respect and not cause them any trouble because they have a lot to deal with in their own lives. Silas

  • Without school, I would not be able to win on the I Want To Be A Millionaire show. Nate

  • Without school, we wouldn't have goals to achieve. Rachel

  • Teachers take care of us while our parents are at work. Logan

  • Teachers are important because we need to learn a lot of stuff. We need teachers because they are our friends. Tessa

I can't possibly express enough thanks to students, staff, and this community for what was given to me in my thirty-six years at Hope Elementary. Indeed, I am a very fortunate individual!
