E. Charlene Stapp, 78, Edinburgh

E. Charlene Stapp, 78, passed away at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin on Sunday, June 21st, 2015.

She was a police dispatcher for Edinburgh and Hope Police Department. She was also the Hope Town Marshal, and the

first woman Town Marshal in Indiana.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, Genealogy, and especially enjoyed cooking for family dinners.

The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Pastor Robert Vester officiating. Burial

will follow at Hope Moravian Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to service

time on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Edinburgh Fireman Cheer Fund through the funeral home.

Born Jan. 25, 1937 in Decatur County, Charlene was the daughter of Harry Saylor and Wanita Richards Beach.

She married Adron "Dee" Stapp on September 10, 1954 and he preceded her in death on July 9, 2012.

Survivors include daughters, Anita (David) Frazee of Edinburgh, Bonnie Lawson of Edinburgh, DeeAnn (Carl) Hitchcock of Hartsville, and Janie Bailey of Edinburgh; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings, Marion "Bud" (Elaine) Saylor of Columbus, Bill (Ann Marie) Saylor of Naples, FL, Don (Irene) Saylor of Shelbyville, TN, and Linda (Rick) Caswell of Seymour; several nieces and nephews.

Charlene is preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Amber Frazee, and great-grandson, Kiegan Frazee.[[In-content Ad]]
