One Hope firefighter was injured in a Tuesday-morning fire that destroyed a Jackson Street home.

Hope Fire Chief Randy Wood told News Talk 1010 WCSI that the fire in the 900 block started at about 6 a.m. He said he was the first on the scene and that there were minimal flames in the beginning. But the blaze continued to spread and gutted the home.

Wood said that one firefighter injured his shoulder while fighting the fire and was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital. No one at the home was injured, he said.

The fire remains under investigation.
