Flatrock man arrested in Columbus on drug-dealing charges

Columbus police officers arrested a Flatrock man on numerous drug charges Sunday evening.
At approximately 6:50 p.m., Feb. 12th, Columbus Police Officers Wesley Dodge and Dan Meister made contact with the driver of a vehicle in the 2500 block of Marr Road after it was reported the vehicle had been weaving in the road. The officers smelled the odor of marijuana while speaking to the driver, later identified as George L. Griffith Jr., 36 years of age. The officers observed that Griffith attempted to conceal an unknown item in his back pocket a short time later and they recovered a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue in it. Griffith was placed under arrest and officers located methamphetamine as well as numerous pills and a partially smoked marijuana cigarette from his clothing.
While searching Griffith's vehicle, officers located additional methamphetamine, several empty plastic bags consistent with narcotics dealing and drug paraphernalia. Griffith was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on the following preliminary charges:
