The town of Hope recently recognized Debbie Hatton, the utilities clerk, for 20 years of service to the town.

Town Manager J.T. Doane said that last week the town staff extended "our deepest appreciation and thanks" to Hatton.

Clerk Treasurer Diane Burton praised Hatton's "continued professional, thorough and consistent service with a smile that she delivers to our community."

Utilities Superintendent David Clouse said Hatton provides "excellent, dedicated customer service to our community that is always done in a positive manner."

Hatton thanked the staff for allowing her to be part of the town's team for 20 years and said she was looking forward to the next 20 years.

"I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you all did for me this morning," Hatton wrote after the celebration.

"It really touched my heart and I was so humbled by it. It's never really been a huge deal to me to come to work every day and love the people of this town. It's just what I do"

"It has been my pleasure to have worked for the town for the past 20 years. And I am so grateful and blessed to have been here and I truly love every moment of it. "I have said it before and will continue to say, 'I haven't had to come to work one day in 20 years.' How many people get to say that one? Ha! The Lord has blessed me beyond measure with this job and I have met some of the nicest people thru it."[[In-content Ad]]
