Hauser baseball wins three

Hauser played a double header at Jac-Cen-Del on Saturday and came away with a pair of wins.

The Jets came out swinging in the first game, winning it 16-1 in 5 innings. Senior Rory Thayer lead the Jets on the mound pitching five strong innings and earning the victory.

Senior Brooks Bailey lead the Jets at the plate, going 3-4 with a double. Hauser also received contributions at the plate from Senior Dalton McKinney, 2-2, Junior Aaron Fields, 2-4, Sophomores Evan Shaw, 2-3, and Eric McMullen, 2-4.

In game two of the double header, it was Jac-Cen-Del that struck early, scoring one in the first. Hauser came back and scored 7 runs in the second inning and took the lead. The Eagles scored 8 more runs over the next three innings to take a 9-8 lead. Senior Dalton McKinney lead off the top of the 7th with a double. After stealing 3rd base, McKinney would score on a passed ball to tie up the game 9-9. One out later Sophomore Evan Shaw walked and then Sophomore Brandon Holt bunted him over to second base. Sophomore Erik McMullen would drive in Shaw with a single to left field, giving Hauser the lead 10-9.

Freshman Sam Meek pitched a scoreless 7th inning to earn his first varsity victory and giving the Jets their ninth on the season.

The Hauser Jets defeated Oldenburg Academy Thursday evening, 3-0. Senior Brooks Bailey went the distance on the mound for the Jets to get the win. Senior Rory Thayer lead the Jets at the plate going 3-4 with 2 doubles.

Hauser improves to 9-5 on the season. The next game is Tuesday vs Waldron at 4:30 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
