Hauser defeats North in cross-county matchup

Saturday night's varsity boys basketball game at Columbus North was an instant IHSAA Classic, with small 1A vs. large 4A -- David vs. Goliath.

The Jets made their way down on the runway of the new Bulldogs renovated home court, and landed with a BIG VICTORY. Hauser trailed most of the game, but fought back with a big momentum shift after a time-out in the third Quarter. Tenacious defense and huge baskets down the stretch gave the Jets their second win in as many tries.

The reserve game went to the Bulldogs, as they got off to an early lead of 18-6 at the first quarter break. A shaky start by the Jets saw them miss some easy shots early on and made a difference in the game. Hauser pulled within six at halftime, and down only by two starting the fourth quarter. North hit some big free throws down the stretch as Hauser was forced to foul to get the ball back.

The Hauser C Team faced North in the auxiliary gym and were defeated in their season opener.
