Hauser Hoops for March 12th: Junior high girls fall in tourney

It took an overtime, but Eastern Hancock defeated the 8th grade Lady Jets 39-34.

Leading the way for Hauser was Jada Asher with 15 points, followed by Taylor Henderson with 10. Rounding out the scoring was Mykenzie Ault with 5 and Anna Landis with 4.

The 7th grade girls were also defeated in the morning contest. North Decatur advanced to the championship with a 34-26 win. Nicole Paetzel had 9 points, Shelby Fugate with 8, and Bree Hadley 7.

Hauser has several Hoosier Basketball Association teams playing this spring. A team consisting of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders coached by Walter & Aubrie Gill just finished this past weekend. The team played mainly 3rd grade teams and did a great job.

A junior high boys team coached by Bob Nobbe and Doug Johnson will be finishing up their season this weekend with the opening round of their tournament Saturday at the Hauser Fieldhouse.

The 6th-grade boys coached by yours truly and Ryan McDaniel have been improving. Going into the tournament last weekend as the 7th seed, defeated the 2nd-seeded Columbus Revolution and the 3rd-seeded Greenfield in two overtimes. The team advanced to the championship game this Saturday at the Hauser Fieldhouse beginning at 10 a.m. vs. 1st-seeded Bloomington.
