Hauser Hoops: JV boys flying high
Congratulations to the Hauser Jets reserve boys basketball team for winning the Henryville Invitational Tournament Tuesday.
Despite not having their starting point guard Mason Sherman due to an injury sustained in the Edinburgh game Friday, coach Griff Roth's team stepped up with two big wins. The morning game saw the Jets dominate Southwestern Hanover 51-17. The Championship game was not much different winning over Crothersville 64-24.
The varsity boys also opened the tournament with Southwestern Hanover, and started strong with a 36-26 lead at the half. Unfortunately the Jets came out cold in the second half getting outscored 14-6 in the third, and 24-10 in the fourth, do go down 64-52. Hopefully the Jets willbe able to get 100% healthy during the Christmas Break. Senior Quindon Shipley has missed the past few games due to an injury.
The Consolation game Hauser matched up with Crothersville and beat the Tigers by 17, 67-50.
The last games of the year are the varsity girls playing in the Union City Tournament next Tuesday and Wednesday. After that, 2015 is in the books, players, parents and fans get a well deserved break, and will look forward to hitting the hardwood again in 2016.
